The Arabs used to take bath in the hammam, so this, what could seem familiar to us, has nothing to do with bathroom. It's a quite common shape for an outdoor fountain.

TraveLog - Malaga
The last point I visited on my way back to the airport was the Alcazaba of Malaga. It belongs more or less to the same period as Madinat al-Zahra, but it was largely rebuilt, so now we can see it in a quite complete shape.

The Arabs used to take bath in the hammam, so this, what could seem familiar to us, has nothing to do with bathroom. It's a quite common shape for an outdoor fountain.
